Gainz and PRs
I’m not sure if it’s the supplements or lifestyle change (i.e. strict bedtime and no alcohol) but I’m finally starting to see some gainz (yes with a Z. Do you even lift?) in the gym.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m still struggling with workouts and a shit ton of other things but damn, I’ve been having some PRs lately and I’m really excited about it.
I was on the struggle bus for a looonnnnggg time. I did have a minor shoulder injury last fall that took until about March to get straightened out so I was going light on weights for a while. I stopped doing extra weight training because I wanted the shoulder to heal. And also because I was so so tired with what I now know is Hashi’s.
Anyway, because of that, I haven’t been focusing as much on strength and it shows. But lately I’ve been seeing a lot of progress and I’m all on board.
Hooray! I don’t feel quite like a chump at CrossFit.
So far I’ve increased my:
- Front Squat
- Power Clean
My 1RM has gone up significantly for a lot of moves and I’m rolling with that. Can I repeat it? I don’t know but right now I’m taking the gainz where I can because I need that.
When everything else is staying the same and frustrating the hell out of me, I need something positive to focus on and right now that’s gym gainz.
