Happy Friday, gang! I’m done working night shifts on Fridays and so today I’m hanging out in my jammies, making a bunch of yummy food, and just chilling the hell out.
I haven’t been sleeping well this week. I fall asleep fine but when I wake up in the middle of the night to hit the bathroom (this is always the case, I’ve never in my life slept straight through the night without needing to use the bathroom,) I have trouble falling back to sleep. UGH.
This usually happens right before my cycle and I’m trying to figure out how to combat it. Considering maybe adding in some Magnesium and seeing if that helps. A lot of my friends want me to try edibles to see if that helps but I’m just not quite there yet. I want to try some other stuff first before I go down that road.
I had a Hashi’s flare this week and it caused me to also miss the gym. Boo. On Tuesday I felt like I got hit by a truck. Super sore, very tired, and couldn’t concentrate on anything. It’s been several weeks since I’ve had a flare so that is a positive and I need to see it as that.
BUT it’s Friday so let’s focus on some fun stuff!
Do you follow Epbot? If you’re into geeky things along with honest and emotional posts, then you’ll dig her site. (PS: She also has Hashi’s.) She’s the creator behind Cake Wrecks. Epbot is her place to geek out and share all about that side. It’s a fantastic site so definitely check it out. Anyway, she just posted about her hack on how to get some amazing photos at Cons and the pictures look amazing.
I’ve started painting my nails again on occasion. This may not seem like a big deal to you but to me it’s huge. Because I’m rocking the Hashi’s Pudge (The struggle is real and it sucks), I stopped using nail polish because I felt like my fingers were just too chubby. Like the polish made my hands look worse instead of fun.
Yes I realize that’s some bullshit negative thinking but it is what it is. In my head I felt like I didn’t have permission (Thanks, Society!) to do that because no one needs to see chubby fingers made chubbier. BUT I have recently started up again because I’ve been feeling so much better and I feel like my hands aren’t nearly as sausage like and I should be able to paint my nails if I want, damn it.

OK, so long story short, I found some fun low-toxic nail polish called, Ella and Mila. These polishes don’t contain 7 of the most toxic substances usually found in polish. Plus they come in super fun colors. I picked up Little Plum Dress and it’s gorgeous. They have a bunch funky colors including sparkly ones. So far so good!
I know that I’m late to the game but Young House Love Has A Podcast is a fun way to pass some time. I’ve been trying to get into podcasts and some of them I find are way too vanilla and scripted. Plus there is way too much bullshit between the hosts in the beginning. The YHL one is not that way. It’s just fun with two people having a conversation about DIY and Reno stuff. It’s kind of refreshing. So if you’re like me and haven’t given them a listen before, go check them out.
Now I’m out to start making some food for the weekend and to get a move on relaxing. Have a great weekend!
