Cultivating A Healthy Life and a Happy Home

Friday Funsies

Hi guys! Happy Weekend!  I’m kind of excited that the weekend is here.  Scott was originally supposed to go down to Denver for a conference but he’s decided to stay at home.

And that means that we can grill today!  It’s been a while since we’ve been able to grill out. For a while I was working the whole weekend and then when that was over, we had all the rain.

But today, we can grill and oooo boy do I have a whole menu planned out.  Hooray!

Today is also the first day this week where I’m feeling semi-normal.  I’ve had a bad Hashi week where I was even struggling to get out of bed.  I was so so tired.  Thanks to Hashi and PMS. I couldn’t even make it to the gym this week. Boo.

(Sidebar: I have been researching periods, hormones, and all the stuff related to it and it’s freaking eye opening. It’s also pissing me right off.  I’m going to do an article about periods and sharing info soon so get ready for that.)

Ok, let’s chat about fun things.

Scott and I binged through The Defenders (On Netflix streaming) this week and it was glorious.

Was the storyline amazing? No.  Admittedly the storyline wasn’t so great and Iron Fist was still Iron Fist.  BUT, Luke Cage (mmmm) and Jessica Jones are my favorite and being in that world again was fun.

I love crossovers and wish more shows would utilize them because creating a universe that is all inclusive allows for broader story lines and better payoff for the viewers.  Sneaking in easter eggs into the shows makes the viewing more fun as well.

The majority of people love Daredevil but I can’t. stand. him.  He was tolerable in this series and I loved Jessica Jones giving him shit.  That’s all I’m going to say about show!  Go watch it and if you haven’t watched the other series give them a shot (though you don’t have to watch Iron Fist to be fully caught up.  I recommend skipping it unless you’re a completist.)

Just found out that Jen Lancaster has a podcast.  I love her sense of humor and her bitchy sarcastic nature. If you haven’t read any of her memoirs, check them out because she’s so funny.  She started a podcast with her friend where they just shoot the shit which is refreshing.

Amazon has finally made a statement about Whole Foods and what to expect.  I’m curious how this is going to work. Currently Scott and I share a Prime membership account but for things like streaming music, Amazon tells me that I have to have my own account to do that.  Which is dumb.  I’m hoping that they don’t do that for shopping as well or I’ll raise a mighty stink.

Have a great weekend gang, and we’ll chat on Monday!
