Time For A Change
Scott and I had a huge heartfelt talk the other day about our life and where we see ourselves in a year and what we want to do about that.
We realized it was time for a big change. Gradually as we were talking more and really getting into our feelings about our current situation, it dawned on us that we could fix this. It would just be a big change for us to do so.
The original plan was to put our house on the market this spring and then purchase another house somewhere else in Fort Collins. The area where our current house is located is not an area where we want to be any longer.
But as we were talking we realized that we’re just kinda over Fort Collins in general. We’ve lived here for almost six years. A lot has happened in that six years. Some of it good and but the majority of it not so good.
Why stay in a place when you’re unhappy and there’s not enough to balance that out? That just makes things more stressful. We have enough stress in our lives that where we live shouldn’t add to that.
So Scott and I decided that we’re not going to buy another house in Fort Collins. Instead we’re going to move on and try some place new.
After talking with several people and doing some research, we’re about 95% sure that we’re going to move to Boise, Idaho.

I never thought that I’d be telling someone that I’m moving to Idaho but here we are.
There are several reasons that we picked Boise:
- Still tons of trails and outdoors stuff to do.
- Seems to have a decent amount of restaurants and shopping.
- Large farming community with access to quality food.
- Lower cost of living.
Our money seems like it will go a lot farther in Boise and we are very much looking forward to that! We can save some pennies and still live the quality life that we want.
In case you’re wondering, the answer is No. No, we have never been to Boise or Idaho before. We’re OK with that. We had never been to Fort Collins or Colorado before either.
I’ve been chatting with a few people about Boise but I’d love to hear from you too! If you live there or know anyone who does, send them my way! I’m still doing research on rentals, areas to check out, and things like that. I would love to talk with as many people as I can.
Scott and I are pretty excited for this new change and can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for us!
