I am a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) and I got my certification from The Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA).
What Is Nutritional Therapy
So let’s dive in to what Nutritional Therapy is and how it can help benefit you.
Essentially it is Bio-individual and holistic approach to nutrition but let’s break this down even further.
Standard nutrition advice, one that you may get from a doctor’s office, is old school and outdated. Standard “diet” advice looks at things like, calories in vs calories out. How much you currently weigh and how active you are and then presents you with a generic calorie number to hit everyday. And if you don’t see results or have a negative reaction, that’s your problem because you’re not doing it right.
Standard Nutrition advice takes a superficial look at a complex issue.
And it doesn’t work because our bodies are way more complex than that. I’m betting you tried this or something similar, and it didn’t work for you which is why you’re here! You are looking for an alternative and inclusive way to approach nutrition so you can reach your goals.
Nutritional Therapy Looks At The Bigger Picture
Nutritional Therapy looks at the whole individual in order to create a protocol unique to each person. For example:
- Your current circumstances
- Health History
- Health Goals
- Past Treatments
By gathering all this data, a protocol is created that is sustainable and unique to you.
Addressing key foundations, like sleep and stress, that are important in helping you manage your symptoms and supporting your body.
Lifestyle and nutrition are just two of the main foundations that are addressed. Mindset and life stressors are also things that can be discussed.
With a Nutritional Therapist, you’ll work together at a foundational level to help you reclaim your life, feel empowered around your health, and find freedom around eating amazing nourishing foods that support your body.
Working to find the root cause of your symptoms so that you can get back to living the life you crave.
