What is Plant Forward eating?

Confusing Information

Perhaps you’re finding yourself in a place where you really want to start incorporating more veggies and plants into your diet but you aren’t sure if that’s OK and you aren’t sure how to start.

Totally understandable because the online nutrition and wellness space is A LOT. There’s also a lot of misinformation and misrepresentation of the “science and studies” (meaning, a lot of folks cherry pick the information to fit their agenda. Shady as shit, right?).

And even though I study nutrition and it’s my passion, I was misled too and followed a lot of stuff that I shouldn’t have. What I’m saying is, we’re all human and it makes sense if this all seems confusing and overwhelming.

 Truthfully, I found myself in a similar situation. I wanted to go back to a more plant focused way of eating. I wasn’t thriving with how I was previously eating. I didn’t listen to my body but instead listened to a bunch of “shoulds” in the wellness space.

So I decided to do what I know, and true to my Enneagram #5 personality, I started researching the shit out of veggies and plant nutrition.  As someone in the nutrition space, it’s my job to stay informed and up to date on nutrition information. And it was high time I started educating myself more around plants.

What is Plant Forward Eating?

Plant Forward is what you want it to be because it’s about YOU. There’s no label like vegan or vegetarian, unless you decide that’s what makes you feel best. Plant Forward is about incorporating more veggies and plants into your daily routine and learning what makes you feel radiant. Perhaps that’s two plant based meals a day with some animal protein for dinner. Maybe it’s just more plants on your plate each day. Plant Forward is unique to you because we are all different and so our are bodies. Each of us is going to have our own special balance of what makes us feel great and what doesn’t.

The goal of plant forward is start eating and thriving with more plant foods. Yes that means veggies but also fruits, nuts, legumes, seeds and grains. How can we incorporate all these foods (some deemed as “horrible” and “inflammatory” for our health by wellness influencers.) back into our lives in a casual yet sustainable way.

There’s no restricting with Plant Forward. We eat fully and abundantly here!
